Football Expert Chris Sutton Takes On Artist Murs in Top Flight Predictions

The Gunners' ten-match victorious streak came to an end by Sunderland before the international break, but will the Premier League leaders bounce back against north London rivals Tottenham this Sunday?

"{I believe like Arsenal are miles ahead of Tottenham currently but Spurs manager Thomas Frank will have a plan for this match," stated football expert Chris Sutton.

"The Spurs manager will try to nullify Arsenal, who have not always been at their sparkling finest this season - but Mikel Arteta's team typically still manage to win."

Sutton is making predictions for all 380 Premier League fixtures this season, versus AI, fans and a variety of guests.

In week 12, he takes on singer Olly Murs, who is a United supporter.

The singer's new record, Knees Up, is out on Friday.

Football and Family Life

Olly is a talented soccer player as well as a successful singer and has been a featured player of multiple charity football games down the years - but he is not planning a professional return as a footballer.

"{I actually played in a benefit game the other evening for a friend of mine," he explained. "The team was losing 3-1 when I came off in the second half, and they proceeded to win 4-3, so you can read into that what you want!

"I continue to love football, but I injured my knee a few years ago and it even now isn't where I want it to be. I hope I could play more but the unpredictability of the sport means it's too risky for me in my profession to do it seriously again.

"Additionally I am forty-one now, and we are not all Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very content not playing football and I am preparing for the moment that my child or son decides to play instead."

Murs and his wife Amelia Tank have a young family, Madison and Albert, and he is prepared to emulate his dad by becoming their coach.

"I won't push football on our kids but I've previously told my wife that if they happen to get the passion for it then I will have to go and get my coaching badges - and I will probably be coaching their weekend football side," he said.

"I observed my relatives play a lot, and I truly got into it, and I clearly was involved with a soccer team for a period too.

"My dad coached with us when I was a kid, which is likely where I get it from. He coached our side for two or three seasons and had a wonderful time with it. That might be the next step for me as well, and I am excited to it!"

Premier League Predictions

Weekend, 22 November

  • Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT

Chelsea might have to be patient for Cole Palmer's comeback from injury but their offense is already stronger with Joao Pedro and Liam Delap both back fit.

I still think this game will be quite tight, though. The Clarets are disciplined and their only at Turf Moor defeats so far have been against Liverpool and Arsenal.

It smells of a 1-1 tie to me, but I am in fact going to go with Chelsea to win narrowly for what would be their third consecutive league win in a row.

Sutton's forecast: 1-2

Olly's pick: Chelsea will be too strong. 1-3

AI's prediction: 0-2

  • Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT

The Cherries have been defeated in their previous couple matches - albeit both of them were on the road - but they got absolutely spanked by Aston Villa last time out which shocked me.

In contrast, West Ham won back-to-back victories before the international break and, although both of those fixtures were at their stadium, they do look competitive again.

West Ham's only on the road victory this campaign came at Nottingham Forest in August, when West Ham boss Nuno Espirito Santo was still that team's manager.

So, what exactly do I predict here - can West Ham extending their run under Nuno, or Bournemouth bouncing back?

I will choose Bournemouth, because I believe what happened against Villa was a anomaly.

The pundit's forecast: 2-0

Olly's prediction: The home team are performing strongly but West Ham have picked up under their boss. 2-2

AI's pick: 1-1

  • Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT

The Bees were considered one of the favourites for the drop before the campaign began, but they have impressed a several people under Keith Andrews and are in good form with three wins in their past four games.

A family member told me to select Bees forward Igor Thiago in my Fantasy Football squad a few weeks back and, unfortunately, I ignored the advice.

Thiago will likely find the net again on Saturday but I am nonetheless not going to pick him or support Brentford at Amex Stadium.

The Bees have not had much fortune on the road this season, and the Seagulls are always decent at home. Brentford will attempt to attack on the counter-attack but I feel Fabian Hurzeler's side pose much more of a threat.

Sutton's prediction: 2-1

The singer's view: This could be a match where you expect there is going to be a lot of goals but it in reality proves to be quite close. 1-1

AI's prediction: 2-1

  • Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT

It is a huge fixture for the Cottagers, who have suffered defeat in five of their past six games.

Fulham have got plenty of talent in their squad but it nonetheless feels like they could be dragged into a drop zone fight.

Regarding Sunderland, indeed they are the surprise package of the Premier League season so far.

The away side's performance in the 2-2 tie with the Gunners last time out was superb. We have not witnessed anyone else disrupt the Gunners like that this season, and Sunderland were fully competitive for them.

The sensible thing to do to support the visitors here, because they are clearly capable of roughing Fulham up too and, the previous occasion they were in west London, they defeated the Blues at the end of last month.

But I am not going to choose that. Instead, I really need to carry on going against Sunderland with my predictions. I am claiming a lot of credit for their positive results because they clearly love to prove me wrong.

Looking at the home side's home form, the sole team they have lost to is Arsenal. Their manager's side will be extremely desperate for a positive outcome, so I am going to say they will pick up three much-needed points.

The expert's forecast: 1-0

The guest's prediction: I know Sunderland are doing well and additionally that Fulham are on a bad run... but Fulham have still been decent at Craven Cottage this season. 2-0

The algorithm's prediction: 2-0

  • Anfield, 15:00 GMT

This is a tough fixture to call. The Reds have lost seven of their last ten matches in all competitions, but could they be among the teams who profit from the {international break|
