Former Doctor Faces Assault Allegations Involving 38 Patients
Prosecutors have stated that a ex- physician stands accused of performing sexual assaults against thirty-eight victims who were under his care.
The Grave Allegations
Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham faces allegations of dozens of acts of sexual assault – including acts against children younger than 13 – between 2017 and 2021.
A senior prosecutor stated, “Our prosecutors have worked at length to support a detailed and complex police inquiry, meticulously examining the available evidence to establish that there is a strong case to proceed to trial and that it is in the interest of justice.”
The Investigation
These allegations come after what police described as a “detailed inquiry” into reported assaults at two hospitals: the Royal Stoke university hospital and Russells Hall hospital.
Spencer will appear at the local magistrates' court on January 20th.

Prosecutors said the 45 sexual offences comprise:
- Fifteen counts of assault.

- Nine counts of sexual assault of a child under 13.
- 3 counts of penetrative assault on a child under thirteen.
