Mohamed Salah Issues Statement to Squad, Discloses Curtis Jones
Curtis Jones has revealed that Mohamed Salah expressed regret to the group of players after the fallout from his televised remarks.
The Fallout
He was omitted from a European match after making accusations and suggesting his connection to the head coach had soured.
“Mo is his own man and he can say his own stuff,” the midfielder said. “His apology was clear and was like: ‘Should anyone feel slighted, I apologise.’”
Arne Slot has chosen not to disclose on whether he got an explanation from the player.
Looking Ahead
He emphasized that the dressing room atmosphere remained positive. “He was the exact same Mo, he had a big smile on his face and everybody was exactly the same with him,” the midfielder explained.
The midfielder also noted that a player's desire to start is less of an issue. “It's clear there are different methods you can express yourself,” he said. “But if a lad’s fine to just be on the bench, then I think that’s more of an issue.”
Positive Results
Their results have been impressive in the period after the situation. He feels the Salah's words were not designed to cause disruption.
“When there’s been any sort of anger, it’s always been from a good place,” he finished. “It's behind us and we’re gelling well as a team, getting results and on a positive run.”
