But the latest Battlefield is aiming to change that.
It's the newest release in a long-running military shooter franchise often positioned as a grittier answer to Call of Duty.
The title has never quite been able to rival its most famous competitor in terms of units sold or gamers, but indicators suggest the recent entry could reduce the distance.
A preview event allowing players a shot to try out the game in recent months achieved milestones, and the buzz approaching its release has been immense.

Production Crew and Company Cooperation
A total of four teams are developing the project under the collaborative umbrella.

In spite of claims that the scale of the game had put a strain on the various developers partnering internationally to build the project, Fas is positive about the process.
"Collaborating with varied perspectives, varied heritages, it's a very engaging setting to be involved in daily," he shares.
"This entire strategy has been an innovation but additionally very inspiring because we are partnering with team members from all over the world."
Concerning the pressure on the crew, he states: "We experience stress but additionally it's thrilling.
"This is a major venture. It's likely the largest that many of us have before worked on."
New Artist Adds Innovative Perspective
