The Reform UK leader Claims Educators of ‘Indoctrinating Children’ on Racial Topics

The political figure stated that educators would initiate walkouts shortly after a success at the polls for his party, charging that they are “harming young minds” by instructing students that African-Caribbean youth are oppressed and white children oppressors.

At a gathering for a Michigan-based religious institution, the politician expressed his viewpoint on British schools, stating that the “Marxist left” had “taken over schooling”.

“I’m anticipating a teachers’ strike soon after winning the next general election,” Farage commented during a Q&A session.

“They are poisoning our kids. They instruct children to feel guilt about their nation. They are telling an eight-year-old black child that he is oppressed and a white child of the same age that he is an oppressor. They create division, not uniting us. They promote this negative culture.”

Reacting to Farage’s claims, Daniel Kebede rejected the idea that the schools were under Marxist influence as “nonsense”. He pointed out that industrial action must relate to educators’ working conditions, and doubted whether Reform would attack these right after taking office.

“Farage has built his political career on coded rhetoric and currently, like Trump, he is lining up teachers and their unions for a conflict,” Kebede stated.

“I think that’s grossly irresponsible. Neither I nor our union – advocate such divisive theories as he’s suggesting … If he were to lead the government he would undermine state services, particularly schooling … and the outcome would be catastrophic for education and children.”

The party, which tops surveys by a significant margin, has not set out much detail on a proposed education policy and does not appear to have appointed an education spokesperson.

Nonetheless, Farage’s remarks suggested the party would overhaul the educational framework. He said: “We have got a massive job with education – truly monumental. Moreover, it won’t happen quickly; it will take us years, years to turn this around.”

He stated that gen Z was more open to critical thinking, but older youth were “completely lost”.

Honoring Charlie Kirk, Farage said: “All I want education to do to foster independent thought – to educate individuals that there are two points of view and you make up your own mind as opposed to current practices where views are labeled good or bad. It’s a massive job in both Britain and America.”

The party has conflicted with a major educators’ organization, after the union leader labeled them “far right and racist” and dismissed Farage as “a cheap imitation”.

The politician has charged the union head with being “an avowed radical” … an individual intent that our children should be poisoned at school, their thinking tainted about everything to do with this country” and has argued that the union is trying to indoctrinate youth opposed to his party.

Almost one million people are employed in education in the UK, about half of whom are teachers and the remainder being assistants and administrative personnel. The leading teachers’ organization has hundreds of thousands of members.

National strikes over educators’ salaries and work environment in recent years led to significant interruptions in educational institutions and extensive missed instruction for children.

At the US event, Farage also vowed to promote the online educational material of the institution in the UK. He stated organizations like it were “part of the fightback”, adding that: “I am serious. I will help garner hundreds of thousands, if not millions of young people to these educational programs. I make that commitment now and I’ll do that.”

The institution, a religious educational establishment, offers free courses. According to its online description: “Comprehensive learning is vital for well-being and to maintain the benefits of civil and religious liberty. The college furnishes these beautiful courses for free to all who wish to learn.”
