The Renowned Musician Encourages Backing to Send Palestinian Solidarity Song to UK Festive Top Spot.

A campaign is aiming to launch a Palestinian lullaby to the Christmas number one spot. The campaign aims to send support to communities in Gaza while also spotlighting Palestinian cultural expression.

A Chance for Support and an "Chart Upset"

Renowned figure Brian Eno, who performs on the track, stated that the song titled Lullaby represents a moment to stand with Palestinians this festive season. He acknowledged the potential for an unlikely festive coup.

“That would be amazing if that came to pass, yes,” he commented. “I’m not gonna be completely let down if it fails to, holiday tracks are a thing unto themselves.”

Resilient Spirit of Dignity and Freedom

Palestinian singer Nai Barghouti, who features in the reimagining of a cultural piece called Yamma Mwel El Hawa, explained the song's defiant core message.

“The song holds a deeply meaningful spot for many individuals,” Barghouti shared. “The message is that I would prefer a dignified death than live a life without freedom. This is the primary message of the song; we want to live a life of dignity that we are entitled to as Palestinians.”

Recording Origins and Featured Artists

The single was laid down following a major charity concert held in late summer. Initially planned to be performed and recorded live, the piece was cut from the show due to the event running long.

The impressive roster of musicians featured on Lullaby includes a range of well-known figures from the music world. All participated in the September show, which reportedly raised a substantial amount for charitable causes.

Final Touches and Availability

Lullaby was brought to life by a trio of music creators. The song features a fusion of the original Arabic with new English lyrics.

The group managing the initiative have stated that their objective is to raise as much as possible for a dedicated fund. These resources will be distributed to projects in Palestine through an non-profit partner.

“We haven't set a specific target,” a representative explained. “We’ll go for the maximum achievable. Obviously, the higher the total, the greater the impact. Every penny goes out to Gaza.”

The reality in the region was described as its widespread damage, with a overwhelming percentage of property said to be destroyed or damaged.

“Given that reality, a couple of million doesn’t make an enormous impact. But I think the significant factor is primarily raising awareness for this issue and proving there’s another side to the story.”

The single 'Lullaby' is set to be released at the end of the week. Additionally, a video of the benefit event will be made ready to watch on a popular streaming site from mid-December.
